Long Silky Coats
A full-length Yorkie coat is stunning and genuinely high-maintenance. It parts down the spine, drags the ground and picks up everything on a Maine sidewalk. We comb it out in sections, bathe with a light conditioning system, straight-dry so it hangs correctly, and trim only the ends and floor line.
Puppy Cuts & Short Trims
What most Yorkie owners actually want: a half to one inch all over, a rounded face, and a coat that can be brushed in two minutes. We keep the length even so it grows out cleanly, and we shape the head so it still looks like a Yorkie, not a shaved terrier.
Topknots, Bows & Face Shapes
Long fall hair needs to be tied up or trimmed short — if it hangs in the eyes it causes irritation and staining. Tell us which you prefer and we'll set a topknot with a soft band and bow, or scissor a tidy round face that stays out of the way.
Teacup & Toy-Sized Yorkies
Under five pounds, everything changes: warm water, warm air, low dryer pressure and short sessions. Tiny Yorkies chill fast and get overwhelmed fast, so we work steadily, take breaks, and are usually done inside an hour.

Hair, not fur
Yorkies barely shed, which means loose hair stays in the coat and turns into mats behind the ears, in the armpits and under a harness. We comb to the skin every visit and show you the three spots that always go first.
Eyes, tear stain and face care
Long fall hair wicks moisture straight into the eyes. We clean the corners, trim the hair away from the lashes, and keep the muzzle short enough that food and water don't sit in the beard.
Warmth on the coast
A five-pound dog with a single coat gets cold quickly in a Maine spring. Our trailer is heated, the water is warm, and we never send a Yorkie out damp — full dry, every time.
Nails, teeth and knees
Toy breeds are prone to dental disease and luxating patellas, so we keep nails short to protect their gait, brush teeth on request, and handle the rear legs gently without over-extending them.

Our Process
How we groom a Yorkshire Terrier.
Every yorkshire terrier appointment follows the same order, start to finish, in the trailer in your driveway. Typical appointment time: about 1 hr 15 min, one dog at a time.
Health check and comb-through
We start by going over the coat with a comb, checking behind the ears, under the collar and in the armpits where Yorkie hair mats first, and looking at eyes, ears, teeth and nails.
Warm bath, gentle products
A warm, low-pressure bath with a light shampoo and conditioner suited to fine silky hair, plus a tearless face wash around the eyes.
Straight dry
We brush while drying so the coat dries straight and flat rather than fluffing. A tiny dog gets low pressure, warm air and a hand on them the whole time.
Trim and shape
Body clipped or scissored to your chosen length, face rounded or the fall set into a topknot, ears tidied, legs and skirt evened out.
Feet, nails and finish
Pads shaved, feet rounded, nails clipped and ground smooth, ears cleaned, sanitary tidied, then a bow if you'd like one.

How often should a Yorkshire Terrier be groomed?
Every 4–6 weeks for a puppy cut and every 3–4 weeks for a long coat, plus brushing at home two or three times a week. Yorkie hair grows continuously, so the schedule matters more than the style.
What is a Yorkie puppy cut?
A short, even trim of roughly a half inch to an inch over the whole body with a rounded face. It's the most popular Yorkie trim because it keeps the breed's look without daily combing.
Do you groom teacup Yorkies?
Yes. Very small Yorkies get warm water, low dryer pressure, extra breaks and a shorter overall session. One dog at a time means we can work at their pace.
Can you do a topknot with a bow?
Absolutely — soft band, no pulling, and a bow if you'd like one. If your Yorkie hates having hair tied up, we'll scissor a short face instead.
