The classic pattern, and the one where shed hair shows most on light furniture. A rubber curry and a deshedding bath pull far more loose coat than brushing at home does.
Red & Stag Red
Solid red or red with black-tipped hairs. Same coat structure and same routine — polish the coat, manage the shedding, keep the skin healthy.
Thin Skin, No Undercoat
There's no insulating layer here. We use warm water, work quickly, and dry completely — a chilled Min Pin will shiver through the rest of the appointment.

Our Process
How we groom a Miniature Pinscher.
Every miniature pinscher appointment follows the same order, start to finish, in the trailer in your driveway. Typical appointment time: about 45 min, one dog at a time.
Curry the coat dry
A rubber curry pass over the short coat to lift dead hair before the bath does the rest.
Warm deshedding bath
A deshedding shampoo and warm water, worked in quickly so a dog with no undercoat doesn't get cold.
Fast, thorough dry
A complete warm dry that blows the remaining loose hair out of the coat.
Hound mitt polish
A final pass with a soft mitt to bring the coat's natural shine up and catch any last loose hairs.
Nails clipped and ground
A careful trim on fast-growing nails, then grinding so nothing snags on bedding or carpet.
Ears, skin check and sanitary

How often should a Miniature Pinscher be groomed?
Every 6 to 8 weeks for a bath, deshed and nails. Many Min Pin owners also book nail-only visits in between, since the nails grow quickly.
Do Miniature Pinschers shed?
Yes, steadily year-round. The hairs are short and stiff, so they lodge in upholstery — regular deshedding baths make a noticeable difference.
Does a Min Pin need a coat in winter?
In Maine, yes. There's no undercoat and very little body fat, so a sweater or fleece for winter walks is a genuine comfort issue.
Why is my Min Pin so hard to hold still for nails?
They're quick, strong for their size and dislike being restrained. Short sessions, confident handling and grinding rather than repeated clipping usually solve it.
Do Miniature Pinschers need haircuts?
No — there's nothing to cut. Grooming is bathing, deshedding, nails, ears and skin care.
