Aussiedoodles are brilliant, athletic, and usually have a coat that matts exactly where the harness rubs. K-Pup grooms aussiedoodles one at a time in a mobile trailer at your home, which is ideal for a high-energy dog that doesn't love sitting still in a busy salon.
Size, Color & Coat
Merle, tri-color and every curl in between.
Aussiedoodles come in standard, mini and toy sizes, with coats from wavy to tight curl and colors from blue merle to red tri. The Australian Shepherd parent is on the AKC Australian Shepherd page.
Standard & Mini Aussiedoodles
Standard aussiedoodles are athletic, medium-to-large dogs with a lot of coat. Minis are more compact but often just as energetic. Both need the same methodical brush-out and a trim that can keep up with an active lifestyle.
Merle, Tri & Color Patterns
The merle and tri-color patterns are part of what makes an aussiedoodle striking. We trim so the colors read clearly — keeping the body length even and the face open so the markings show through rather than disappearing under fluff.
Wavy Coats
Wavy aussiedoodles keep a more natural, shaggy look. The wave hides matting at the skin, especially under the harness and around the collar. We line-brush fully and keep the length honest.
Curly Coats
Curly aussiedoodles are more poodle-dominant. They mat fast and need a 4–6 week schedule. We use a defined trim length and hand-scissor the face for a soft, rounded look that doesn't look like a poodle.

High energy, smart, and a coat that works hard.
Burning energy before the groom
Aussiedoodles focus better when they're not bouncing off the walls. We recommend a walk or play session before we arrive. Once they settle, they're usually excellent on the table — especially with no other dogs around to excite them.
Merle skin and sun
Merle dogs often have pink skin under white or light patches, which sunburns more easily. We never shave to the skin and leave a protective length on merle aussiedoodles, especially in summer.
Feet, pads and outdoor life
Aussiedoodles that hike, run on the beach or work in the yard collect burrs, mud and sand between the pads. We trim the feet flush, clean the pads, and keep nails short so active feet stay healthy.
Double-coat influence
The Australian Shepherd side brings a weather-resistant undercoat. A deshedding bath and blow-out help that undercoat cycle properly so the coat doesn't pack down or overheat in summer.

Our Process
How we groom a Aussiedoodle.
Every aussiedoodle appointment follows the same order, start to finish, in the trailer in your driveway. Typical appointment time: about 2 hr 30 min, one dog at a time.
Coat type and energy check
Aussiedoodle coats swing from straight aussie-ish to tight poodle curl, and the dogs are high-energy. We read the coat and set a pace that keeps a busy dog comfortable on the table.
Deshed and line brush
Straighter aussiedoodle coats shed heavily; curlier ones mat. Either way we rake, line-brush and comb through to the skin, with extra time in the ruff, pants and tail feathering.
Bath and undercoat treatment
A deshedding shampoo and conditioner treatment loosens the dead undercoat so it comes out at the trailer instead of on your rugs. Merle and tri coats get a brightening wash to bring the color back up.
High-velocity blowout
The force dryer is what actually removes shed undercoat on this breed — most of the hair you'd otherwise vacuum all month comes out here.
Trim and tidy
We keep the natural aussie outline where owners want it — tidy feet, clean sanitary, blended pants and ruff — or take the body down evenly for a lower-maintenance summer coat.
Nails, ears, sanitary and finish
Nails clipped and ground smooth, ear hair cleared and canals wiped, sanitary and paw pads tidied, then a light coastal-safe spritz. We hand you back a dog you can put straight on the couch.

How often should an aussiedoodle be groomed?
Every 4–6 weeks for a full groom, with brushing at home 3–4 times a week. Active dogs that hike and swim often benefit from a mid-cycle bath or face/feet tidy.
Will my aussiedoodle get shaved if it's matted?
If the coat is pelted, a humane short reset is the safest option. We never force dematting on a dog that will be uncomfortable. We always explain the plan before we start.
Is mobile grooming good for a high-energy aussiedoodle?
Yes — no waiting, no other dogs, and a quick walk back into your own house. Many high-energy dogs settle much faster in a quiet mobile trailer than in a busy salon.
Do aussiedoodles shed?
It depends on the coat. Wavier aussiedoodles shed more and need deshedding. Curly aussiedoodles shed very little but mat quickly. Neither is zero-maintenance.
